Album

Joy Ride is the seventh studio album from American R&B group The Dramatics, released in 1976 via ABC Records. The album peaked at 103 on the Billboard 200 and at 11 on the Billboard R&B chart. Three singles were released from the album: Finger Fever, Be My Girl and I Can't Get over You. Be My Girl was the most successful single from the album, peaking at 53 on the Billboard Hot 100. Joy Ride featured three singles, the first being the dance track Finger Fever. Ron Banks and L. Reynolds co-lead this gritty number with its multi-directional arrangement. The single peaked at number 23 on the R&B charts. The second release was the classic Be My Girl. Simultaneously released with Michael Henderson's version, the Detroit quintet is in superior form on this soulful number. In addition to being the author of the song, Henderson also produced the Dramatics' version, which peaked at number three on the R&B charts. The final release was th. Album 1975 10 Songs. The Dramatics were among the gutsiest of the sweet harmony groups of the early '70s, so it was no surprise that they relished the shift in musical tastes that happened around 1975, when the rise of disco intensified the genres rhythms. Funk and disco propelled new songs like After the Dance, Finger Fever, and Richest Man Alive, but The Dramatics always made sure to keep their high-quality harmony arrangements front and center. Sweet harmony soul had already seen its peak, but Joy Ride contains a slew of hidden gems, among the last masterpieces in a once-dominant genre. Joy Ride. The Dramatics. Released 1976.
